Fresno County is encouraging residents to sign up for emergency alerts ahead of fire season, part of an effort to ensure warnings reach people quickly when conditions turn dangerous. Timely notice can be critical during fast-moving events.
The alert system can deliver evacuation notices and safety information by text, call, or email. Officials stressed that registering multiple contact methods improves the odds of receiving a message in an emergency.
Residents in foothill and rural areas were especially urged to enroll and to prepare a basic go-bag and evacuation plan before the peak of the season.
