Who’s Funding the Campaigns?
The latest reports show different mixes of financial support across the six campaigns.
Labor organizations and political action committees appear among the notable contributors to several campaigns. Other candidates reported contributions from individual donors, businesses, real estate interests, elected officials and other political organizations.
Campaign finance records show who contributed and how much was reported. They do not, by themselves, establish that a contribution caused a candidate to take a particular policy position or vote a certain way.
That makes the donor lists one piece of information voters can examine alongside candidates’ platforms, public statements and records.
What Happens Next?
The latest reports arrive with roughly five weeks remaining before the Nov. 3 general election. The Fresno Bee reported that vote-by-mail ballots were expected to begin going out in the first week of October.
More campaign finance activity can be reported before Election Day, so these numbers are not necessarily the final totals for the 2026 races.
For Fresno voters, the money trail is now public. The next question is what candidates do with the support they receive and how their campaign finances compare with their stated positions and records.
